Our head coaches include adults who played collegiately at great lacrosse programs like, UVA, Notre Dame, Towson, Drexel, Saint Joes, Gettysburg and Michigan State and coached collegiately at Widener, Villanova, McDaniel, Drexel. Our summer staff includes current college stars from UVA, UNC, Notre Dame, Siena, Boston University, University of Pennsylvania, Ballarmine, Dickinson, Yale.. Our coaches have gone on to coach the Under Armour Games, at US tryouts and more.
PA Director- Doug Corrigan

Doug Corrigan

corrigan, dougLacrosse has been a huge part of Coach Corrigan’s life. Born in New Haven, Connecticut while his father was the coach at Yale, Coach Corrigan was surrounded by lacrosse from an early age. Three all American uncles, including Gene Corrigan, former head coach at W&L and UVA and George – who finished up his 7 decade spanning coaching career at 84 at Radnor High, helped introduce him to the sport.

A former defenseman and captain at UVA, Doug went on to coach around Philadelphia including stops at Villanova, Widener, Archmere, MAB Lacrosse club and West Chester Youth. Prior to the creation of the MLL pro league, the USCLA was the top league and Coach Corrigan played for the Philadelphia USCLA team (MAB) for 10 years with legends like Chris Flynn, Tony Resch, Zack Colburn, Tim Goldstein, Chris Bates and Scott Gabrielson, and then as a coach, won the USCLA Championship. Coach Corrigan has served twice (2014 and 2015) as an assistant coach for the Under Armour All American teams, most recently winning the underclass championship with the Philadelphia team. In addition, coach Corrigan served on the board of the US Lacrosse Foundation for three years and was a sideline coach at the 2004 US team tryouts.

Coach Corrigan lives in West Chester with his wife Kitty and his children Colin, Shane and Grace.

2020 Elite: Chris Maits and Pete Carozza

Chris Maits – “Monty”

Chris was 3 year starter and member of the 1982 Springfield High School State Championship team. He received All Central League honors as a senior and the “Legends of the Game Award” from Springfield Coaches. In college Chris was a three year starting defenseman at Drexel University. Chris played on several post collegiate club teams and currently plays on teams that recently have won championships at the Lake Placid, NY and Ocean City, MD GrandMasters tournaments.

His coaching career began with the Springfield Athletic Association 7th and 8th grade team in 1988 – 89. He then was Junior Varsity Head Coach of Springfield High School 1994. Chris was Player/Coach of Kelly’s Lacrosse team of the American Lacrosse League from 1998 – 2008, having been a player on that team since 1990. Chris continued his career as an Assistant Coach at the highly ranked Downingtown West High School team from 2007 to 2012. Chris was head coach of several Black Bear Chester County Travel teams, U15 in 2008 and Select Orange in 2009 as well as being Director of the Black Bear Delco program for three years. Chris has also coached U9, U11, U11A and U15A teams for the West Chester Youth Lacrosse League.

Travis Lamb

lamb, travisGrowing up in West Chester, PA, Travis Lamb has played lacrosse for over 36 years. He was an offensive midfielder at Henderson High School where he obtained All American status. Travis continued to play lacrosse at Cornell University as a long stick middie and was team captain his senior year. Post college, he played competitively with well established teams such as MAB Paints, Quaker Lacrosse Club, Chicago Lacrosse Club, and currently the Breakers Master squad based out of Baltimore.

Travis has been coaching youth lacrosse for 6 years at both the recreational and club team levels. “Not only do I enjoy teaching kids the technical aspects of lacrosse, but I also like developing their sportsmanship, work ethic, and leadership skills on and off the field.”

2022 Select: Matt Timmins

Matt Timmins

timmins, mattMatt brings over 15 years of coaching experience to the PA RoughRiders organization. He has coached at both the youth and high school levels.

Matt grew up in West Chester, PA where he played high school lacrosse at West Chester East High School. While at West Chester East, he played on the 1988 undefeated, Pennsylvania State Championship team while receiving numerous individual accolades.

He then played Attack at Towson (State) University where he was a member of multiple NCAA Playoff teams including the 1991 team who finished as the runner in the NCAA Finals and was recently inducted into the Towson Athletic Hall of Fame as a Team of Distinction.

After college, Timmins played in post collegiate club lacrosse for several Philadelphia area club teams United States Club Lacrosse Association (USCLA). At present, Matt is actively involved in coaching with West Chester Youth Lacrosse and the PA Roughrider organizations.

Coach Timmins resides in West Chester, PA with his wife Amy along with their four children Ryan (11), Liam (11), and Emma (7).


2023: Matt Thompson, Scott Cebul and Pat Heim

Matt Thompson

Matt grew up in West Chester, PA where he was a 3 year letter winner in both football and lacrosse at Henderson High School. His senior year he was named 1st Team All Suburban Quarterback by the Philadelphia Inquirer. He continued his athletic career at Gettysburg College where he graduated with a degree in Finance. He continued to play lacrosse after college for various clubs. He is in his fourth year coaching for the Roughriders.

Matt was part of the inaugural class of the West Chester Youth Lacrosse program in 1984. Returning to coach there in ’09, he has served as Head Coach and Director at the U7, U9, U11, and U14 AA levels.  Along the way he also coached the U12 and U14 Chester County All-Star Teams.  Matt has also served as an evaluator for the Philly Region Under Armour All American Teams for the last several years. Matt lives in West Chester with his wife, Lisa, and their 2 children Lily and Mackey.

Scott Cebul

RR Scott Cebul PicScott grew up in central Ohio where he attended Thomas Worthington HS. During his time there, his team won 3 State Championships and he was a 3 time All-Midwest and All-State midfielder. After his senior season, he represented the state of Ohio in the National North South HS All Star game and he was invited to tryout for the U19 U.S. team. Following high school, Scott went on to play D1 varsity lacrosse at Michigan State University. At MSU, he was a 3 time All-League selection and served as a Co-Captain for his senior season.

Since Scott and his family moved from the Midwest to PA in 2012, he has been a coach for both the U9 and U11 age groups in West Chester, and in 2015, he joined the Roughriders. Scott and his wife, Julie, live in West Chester with their children Carson, and Kylie.

Pat Heim

Pat grew up in Wayne, PA, and attended Conestoga High School where he excelled in football, wrestling, and lacrosse, earing 12 varsity letters, and team captain in each sport. Coach Heim went on to play lacrosse at Penn State University as a midfielder, under former Head Coach, Glenn Thiel.

At Penn State, Coach Heim was a three time 1st Team All ECAC midfielder, two time All American, and team captain his senior year. In 2007, he was selected as the #1 overall draft pick in the MLL Collegiate Draft to the Chicago Machine. In the MLL, he was a two time All-Star and in 2011, won the MLL Championship with the Boston Cannons. Pat was also selected as a non-drafted free agent to the Philadelphia Wings of the NLL in 2008, where he played for 6 seasons.

2026/2027: Scott Chisholm and Tom Lavin

Scott Chisholm

Coach Chisholm has been coaching youth lacrosse at various levels for over 10 years now. He was an All American at both the high school and collegiate levels while at West Chester East High School in 1990, and Villanova University in 1994. While at Villanova, Scott racked up a total of 143 ground balls, 82 goals, and 23 assists- 105 points total. His Junior year, Coach Chisholm was selected as a USILA Honorable Mention All American, and in his Senior year, was given the team’s most prestigious award, the Jim Jones Memorial Award. In 2014, Scott was inducted into the Villanova Sports Hall of Fame.

Scott now resides in West Chester, where he is self employed, and married with 3 boys, 2 of which play for the Roughrider program.
